From Anxiety to Apprenticeship: Confidence in Motion
What were the goals?
To achieve the required academic attainments that would allow the student to progress to his desired college course.
What were the challenges the student was experiencing before the BrightTeachTutor’s support?
The young person was experiencing challenges with his motivation particularly in terms of accessing learning. His anxiety manifested itself in emotional dysregulation, and at times he experienced feelings of anger. At the time of joining the tuition there was a very real fear he would struggle to achieve what was required to get him to the next stage of his educational journey.
What did the tutor do?
The tutor researched the young person’s desired post 16 journey and ensured the plans for his tuition would enable him to achieve the required attainments to access the course of his choice.
The tutor worked collaboratively with the SENCO at the young person’s school, ensuring work completed and assessments undertaken would be suitable to secure the attainments he required and that these were completed in a timely manner (to coincide with the prescribed deadlines).
What was the impact of the BrightTeach Tutor’s support?
The student achieved the entry requirements for his course, exceeding the predicted targets.
